I spontaneously created something new for my end of year show. Ironically it was large live and technically difficult to realise .I think it showed my innate ambition and ability.
I was inspired to illustrate Roland Barthes' philisophical concept of 'jouiscance" .The erotic ecstacy of the moment.
Semiotics had begun to dominate my making .The potential of Signs and emblems as accessible ways of communicating complicated ,deep and difficult ideas and feelings a dramatic and visual poetry
I revelled in the irony of the title as there was so much movement and a bowl of real fruit.
This was an exercise in using video as moving "pictures"I envisioned this as an inevitable development of both video and painting. ( which it has become ) I still have confidence in this medium .
The New enormous flat screens are making it even more viable as an alternative to painting or other STILL images.
I performed on the video screens.
